Trainer.sg uses cookies and browser storage to support sign-in and remember useful details while you use the site. This page explains what is stored in your browser. For information about personal data held by Trainer.sg, read our Privacy Policy.

Cookies and browser storage explained

Cookies are small pieces of information that your browser can send back to the site with requests, for example to keep you signed in.

Session storage keeps information for a browser tab and survives a page refresh. It normally clears when that tab's browsing session ends; browser session-restoration settings can affect this.

Local storage remembers information across visits in the same browser. It has no automatic expiry unless the site sets one, and remains until it is replaced or you or your browser clear it.

What we use and how long it lasts

Sign-in

Our authentication provider, Supabase, uses cookies to maintain your session and support sign-in. Its authentication cookies are configured with a lifetime of up to 400 days and may be refreshed while you use the site. This is the browser cookie lifetime, not a guarantee that your account session remains valid for that long. Signing out removes the authentication session, and your browser may clear cookies earlier.

Policy acknowledgement

When you start Google sign-up, a temporary cookie carries your acknowledgement of the current terms and privacy policy through the sign-in flow. It expires after 10 minutes and is cleared when the callback completes. Your account's policy acceptance is recorded separately on our servers.

Recent searches and trainers

Session storage remembers recent searches, up to four recently viewed trainers, and your previous scroll position when you return to listings. These help you pick up where you left off during the tab's browsing session. The recently viewed section has a clear button; saved scroll positions are removed after they are restored.

Booking drafts

Session storage can hold information you enter while preparing a booking request, including your training goals and answers. Drafts are treated as expired after 24 hours and removed when checked, and may be cleared earlier when a draft is completed or discarded. A session cookie is updated on sign-out so drafts from the earlier sign-in are invalidated when checked. Your browser's session-restoration settings may affect when session storage and session cookies are cleared.

Interface preferences and verification

For trainers, local storage remembers availability-calendar views and visible layers until they are changed or cleared. During phone verification, session storage remembers when a code was requested so the countdown can survive a refresh. That timestamp is cleared when the verification flow resets or completes, or when the tab's browsing session ends.

Privacy notice dismissal

Selecting Got it on the landing-page privacy notice saves a dismissal preference in local storage. It has no automatic expiry. Clearing site data makes the notice appear again, and an updated version of the notice may appear in future. Dismissing the notice does not accept account terms or change your account's privacy-policy acceptance.

Administration

The separate administration area also uses security cookies: an administrative session lasts at most eight hours with a 15-minute inactivity limit, a verification cookie lasts 10 minutes, and a password-setting grant lasts 15 minutes. These are not needed to browse the public marketplace.

Managing cookies and stored information

You can clear Trainer.sg's cookies and site data in your browser settings. This may sign you out, remove local preferences and drafts, and make the privacy notice appear again. Blocking cookies can prevent sign-in; features that remember browsing activity or drafts may be unavailable if browser storage is blocked.
